Hi,Welcome to COOKING DONE WRIGHT.
I’ve always loved cooking. For as long as I can remember, I’ve found joy in the kitchen—trying new recipes, experimenting with ingredients, and challenging myself to make things I’d never attempted before. Cooking has always been more than just making dinner; it’s been a creative outlet, a way to unwind, and something that brings me genuine happiness.
I’ve never been the type to stick to the same recipes over and over. I love pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, whether that’s tackling a new technique, recreating a restaurant favorite, or putting my own spin on a classic dish. Some recipes have been huge successes. Others… not so much. But every meal has taught me something.
These days, cooking looks a little different.
I’m a new mom, and like many moms, I’m learning how to balance the things I love with the responsibilities that come with raising a family. The kitchen isn’t always spotless, the sink isn’t always empty, and sometimes there’s a baby needing attention right in the middle of dinner prep.
As I get closer to returning to work, I find myself wondering how I’ll continue making space for this passion while navigating life as a working mom. The truth is, I don’t have all the answers yet—but I do know that I don’t want to give up the things that bring me joy.
That’s why I created COOKING DONE WRIGHT.
This blog is a place for approachable recipes that feel elevated without feeling overwhelming. You’ll find meals that are manageable for busy schedules, but still special enough to gather around the table for. Some recipes will come together quickly on a busy weeknight, while others might be worth slowing down for on a quiet weekend… well, maybe not quiet but you get what I mean. No matter the recipe, my goal is to make cooking feel achievable, enjoyable, and rewarding.
But this blog isn’t just about recipes.
Behind every meal is a story. Sometimes it’s a kitchen win. Sometimes it’s a complete disaster. Sometimes it’s about navigating motherhood, preparing for a return to work, or figuring out how to make dinner while running on very little sleep. Through these recipes, I’ll be sharing pieces of real life—the funny moments, the chaotic moments, and the stories that remind us we’re all doing our best.
My hope is that you’ll find something relatable here. Maybe you’ll laugh at a story because you’ve lived it yourself. Maybe you’ll see a little bit of your own chaos reflected in mine. And maybe you’ll discover that creating something delicious doesn’t require having everything perfectly together.
Most importantly, I want to show other women, parents, and busy professionals that it’s still possible to create incredible meals while balancing the demands of everyday life. You don’t need a perfect kitchen, endless free time, or professional training to make food you’re proud of.
Just a little curiosity, a willingness to try, and maybe a glass of wine nearby.
So whether you’re here looking for a new favorite dinner, an elevated comfort food recipe, a relatable story, or simply a little inspiration to get back into the kitchen, I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s make something beautiful together.
With love,
Mrs. Wright
